Riyadh, May. 6, (BNA) HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has expressed delight to join his brothers, the GCC leaders, and take part in the 8th GCC Consultative Summit, being held in Saudi Arabia, hosted by Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
Upon arrival, HM gave a statement in which he asserted that GCC leaders will continue shouldering the responsibility of developing the GCC countries and meeting the expectations of their peoples by joining efforts and mustering up more efforts.
HM added that Bahrain, which has always proved up to its role in the GCC developmental process, regards this consultative gathering as a reflection of the unwavering determination to enhance GCC cooperative work to be able to confront future challenges.
HM noted that as gathering will enable GCC leaders to face regional and global changes, the current developments makes it an urgent must for them to promote their work according to clear strategies in keeping with future requirements.
HM stressed the importance of reinforcing GCC cooperation through quick and practical means that highlight the GCC citizenship which is a common GCC objective .
HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa asserted that GCC ties can be strengthened through the development of an integrated and stable GCC economy that will protect the GCC countries' interests and ensure more comfort to their peoples.
HM expressed pride and satisfaction over the positive and fruitful accomplishments, mainly in security cooperation, the issue that all the GCC leaders regard as a catalyst for comprehensive economic development and a shield for the protection of GCC achievements and security.
The GCC Joint defence cooperation and coordination proved to be an urgent need that should be further reinforced to protect our peoples and those of the entire world from violence and terror acts, HM added.
HM expressed hope that the decisions to result of this consultative gathering would lead to further solidarity and cohesion and help the GCC states attain their noble objectives, praying Almighty God to bless the GCC process with every success.
