British forces in Amarah, Iraq come under mortar fire

Baghdad, Aug. 18, (BNA) The Iraqi Police in Al Amarah in Iraq said that the British Forces stationed in the city, some 380 Kilometers to the south of Baghdad, came under mortar fire on Friday.
Police said sound of explosions were heard echoing near the base of Abu Naji which was targeted by 5 rounds of mortar fire at dawn on Friday. The source said though the British forces admitted being attacked, they did not specify the resulting losses.
