Manama, March 9 (BNA) His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received at Safriya Palace today Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi who gave an account on the royal digital library project, the first of its kind to be established in Bahrain in line with His Majesty's directives to place the kingdom at the forefront of nations in deploying Information technology in all fields.
HM valued the project for its future positive impact on the national presence of Bahrain in the global IT community and for the great services it is expected to offer to citizens in general and researchers in particular as it will help them carry out their researches with ease and keep abreast with the fast-paced advances in the field.
The Education Minister elaborated on the project touching on its objectives, mission, characteristics and designs, saying that it is in consonance with other relevant projects of cultural and educational nature such as King Hamad Schools of the Future, King Hamad Award for the Use of Information and Communications Technology in Education and the UNESCO-supervised Regional ICT Center.
This project is to be carried out in line with HM's directives and is expected to ease interaction with similar international libraries and projects in addition to being time and cost-effective for students and researchers, he said.
